Rooted in Christ -- Our Sheltering Place
For in the day of trouble he (The LORD) will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock. (Psalm 27:5)
In the past week, we have been staying home to stay safe. Some have used the phrase shelter in place for what we are doing. We at Christ the King Lutheran School pray our families are safe and healthy as we go through this unique moment in history together. The words of Psalm 27 above tell us where we can find a safe shelter no matter what the situation. Our LORD (that name describes the God who always keeps his promises) provides safety and comfort in difficult times. This Psalm was written by King David, a valiant warrior-king. Yet, when he was in trouble, he did not rely on himself but on the LORD. Go to your LORD in prayer and pour your heart out to him. Find strength and comfort in the Word of the LORD. Be Rooted in Christ - our sheltering place.
K-8 families of CTK have received their At-Home Learning packets from teachers. The intent of CTK’s plan is for our students to focus on the essentials of Christian education - the Word of God, reading, writing, and mathematics. At the same time, we do not want to overwhelm families with a plethora of at-home activities at a time when stress and anxiety levels are elevated for many. Our prayer is that the time spent learning at home is a blessing for you and your child(ren). Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or Mr. Brown with any questions you may have. The CTK faculty is committed to your child’s development and will do everything possible to ensure his/her readiness for learning at the next level in August 2020.
CTK’s Executive Council met via Zoom Meetings this past Tuesday and will continue to meet regularly to plan for the future. They are keeping apprised of information coming from local, state, and federal agencies as this situation continues to evolve. Any changes in CTK’s scheduled re-opening on April 15 will be communicated to families as soon as possible.
We are thankful for the partnership we have with you in providing Christian education for your children.
