COVID-19 UPDATE (as of 4/3/20)

What a few weeks it has been! There seems to be no end to the alarming news we hear. At times, it may cause people to complain, get tired, express frustration, or become depressed. I heard on the news this morning that nearly 50% of the population surveyed expresses a concern about feelings of stress, anxiety, and/or depression. That, too, is alarming! What a blessing to be able to find relief for all the issues and concerns related to COVID-19 in the Word of God. Today, Janell and I read through Isaiah 40 for our devotion time. The chapter ends with these words: (The LORD is talking to his people.)

Why do you complain, Jacob? Why do you say, Israel, “My way is hidden from the Lord; my cause is disregarded by my God”? Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

The LORD knows what you are going through. The LORD understands and cares about the problems you are facing. There may not be a clear answer to the "why" of COVID-19, but when you place your hope in the LORD, He will be your everlasting source of strength.

I miss seeing the CTK family - students, families, faculty, and staff. I am keeping you in my prayers, asking for the LORD to be your source of strength and true joy. I want to thank you all for doing your part while we deal with the fallout of COVID-19. Thank you, parents/guardians, for working with your children on Bible lessons and other learning activities provided by teachers. Thank you, children, for being willing to learn in a different way. Thank you, teachers and staff, for your commitment to providing Christian education under very unique circumstances. Through the collaborative efforts of the entire Christ the King Lutheran School Family and with the LORD as our source of strength, we will work through these challenging times. No one may know the "how" but we do know the "Who" who does. The LORD knows. Romans 8:31-32 states, If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? The Scriptures tell us with certainty, "God's got this!"

God's richest blessings to your family during this unusual time. We would love to have you join us for worship on Sundays at 10am. You can join via CTK Church's Facebook Page or visit CTK's Website.

Stay safe and be healthy.
