mR. bROWN'S WEEKLY UPDATE
Christ the King Families,
Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all His benefits.
...we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. (1 John 2:1b-2)
This weekend, the worship theme at Christ the King continues with the overarching theme of Certain Hope in an Uncertain World. This weekend, Pastor Jay will talk about the certainty of the peace offered by Jesus being so much greater than any problems we face in this world. The scripture passage above presents two amazing truths about our Savior Jesus: 1. Jesus is our advocate. Jesus speaks to God the Father on our behalf. 2. Jesus is the atoning sacrifice. Jesus’ perfect life and innocent sufferings and death have made full payment for all sins of all time. Because of the work of Jesus, peace between us and God the Father has been secured. Of that, we can truly be certain, and that certainty gives us hope.
Christ the King Academy has some staffing updates to share with our families.
Miss Jocelyn, Christ the King Academy’s toddler lead teacher, has announced her plans to pursue another career opportunity. Miss Jocelyn has faithfully served Christ the King since the 2017-18 school year and we are truly grateful for Miss Jocelyn and thankful to the LORD for her service to our children and their families. Miss Jocelyn’s last day in the classroom is today, Friday, April 16. We pray for the LORD’s continued blessings for Miss Jocelyn.
Beginning on Monday, April 19, Miss Brianna and Miss Mackenzie will be co-teaching in the 1’s room in the morning, and Miss Gabby and Miss Deb will be assisting in the afternoon. If you have any questions about the 1’s room, please contact Miss Tammie.
Miss Sandy, a long-time worker at Christ the King Academy, has announced her retirement effective Friday, April 23. Miss Sandy has faithfully served Christ the King Academy since the 2010-11 school year as an assistant in the Early Childhood Center and in the K-8 extended care program. Christ the King is thankful for Miss Sandy’s faithful service to so many students and families of Christ the King over the years and praises the LORD for her work. We pray for the LORD’s continued blessings on Miss Sandy and her family.
Miss Glodowski, Christ the King Academy’s 2nd grade teacher, has announced her decision to accept the call to serve as 1st and 2nd grade teacher at Carlsbad Christian Academy in Carlsbad, CA. We are thankful for Miss Glodowski’s faithful service to the students and families of Christ the King Academy since the 2017-18 school year. Miss Glodowski will complete her work as Christ the King’s 2nd grade teacher this school year and transition to her new role in June. We pray for the LORD’s continued blessings on Miss Glodowski, the transition to her new ministry setting, and the work she gets to do there.
Mr. Brown continues to consider the call he received earlier this week to serve as principal at Grace Christian Academy in Falls Church, VA. (This was announced in a separate email.) Please keep Mr. and Mrs. Brown in your prayers as they consider both of their calls here at Christ the King and this new call to Grace Christian Academy. If you would like to speak with Mr. Brown about his call, please feel free to reach out to him (phone 605-880-0897 or email email@example.com).
Enrollment for the 2021-22 School Year
Enrollment for the 2021-22 school year continues. Some classrooms have already filled and others are getting close. If you have any questions about the enrollment process please contact Mrs. Radikopf.
If you are planning to have your child(ren) attend elsewhere for the 21-22 school year, please inform Mrs. Radikopf as soon as possible so Christ the King Academy can plan accordingly.
There is still room in Christ the King Academy’s summer camp program for students through 5th grade. If you are interested in registering for camp, please contact Mrs. Radikopf or click on the summer camp link.
Beginning the week of April 19, students in kindergarten through grade 8 will participate in Spring MAPS testing. These tests are not graded and do not dictate a student’s academic progress. The results are used to identify strengths and opportunities for improvement for individual learners, entire classrooms, and Christ the King Academy. If you have any questions about testing, please contact your child’s teacher or Mr. Brown.
Because of the COVID-19 protocols currently in place, Christ the King Academy will be doing VPK and 8th grade graduations a bit differently this spring. Please note…
VPK A (Miss Wendy’s Class) will celebrate graduation on Monday, May 17 @ 6:30
