Week #15 - November 22, 2019
Rooted in Christ - By Giving Thanks
This is the time of year when we stop and consider all the things for which we can be thankful. The Apostle Paul wrote, Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 5:19-20).
In spite of all the trouble this sinful world brings into our lives, we can always have an attitude of gratitude as our righteous, loving, and victorious Lord reigns. May the Lord bless and keep you as you remain Rooted in Christ by giving thanks.
A Thanksgiving Song of Praise
Now thank we all our God, with heart and hands and voices,
Who wondrous things has done, in Whom this world rejoices;
Who from our mothers’ arms has blessed us on our way
With countless gifts of love, and still is ours today.
Oh, may this bounteous God through all our life be near us,
With ever joyful hearts and blessed peace to cheer us;
And keep us in His grace, and guide us when perplexed;
And free us from all ills in this world and the next!
All praise and thanks to God the Father now be given,
The Son, and Him Who reigns with Them in highest Heaven—
The one eternal God, Whom earth and Heav’n adore;
For thus it was, is now, and shall be evermore.
Driveway Gates & Parking Lot Safety
The driveway gates are now operational. The gate will be open during drop-off and pick-up times. Families who need access to campus at other times during normal school hours, 7am to 6pm, will be able to call the office from the call box.
*Please note, when exiting campus and the gates are closed, cars must stop at the white line and the gate will open automatically. If you are too close, the gate could bump into your vehicle.
AICE Informational Meeting
Matanzas High School has informed us that they will be having an informational night on Dec. 3rd, at 6:30pm in their dining hall regarding the AICE program.
The AICE program (which stands for Advanced International Certificate of Education and is pronounced ACE) is for high school students who are looking for a more challenging high school experience and also want a chance to earn college credit.
You can read more about this program on the Matanzas High School website.
CTK School Uniform & Spirit Store
Our vendor is still having troubles with his website. We appreciate your patience and will let you know when the full store is open for shopping. In the meantime, school uniform shirts may be ordered from the CTK School Store.
If you have any questions about the store, you can speak with Mrs. Radikopf or Mr. Brown.
Christian Aid and Relief
In light of the damage caused in the Bahamas by Hurricane Dorian, our Friday mission offerings will be directed toward Christian Aid and Relief, an organization committed to helping areas impacted by disaster by meeting the physical needs of people and through their humanitarian efforts sharing with others the good news of Jesus’ never-failing love.
Christian Aid and Relief has already committed funds for medical assistance in the Bahamas and we expect additional assistance to be offered as the situation continues to be assessed. To date, students of CTK have given $176.44 toward this effort.
CTK has resources for families to speak with their child about God’s gift of sexuality. A series of age appropriate books are available for checkout from Mr. Brown.
Common Sense Media For parents who wish to be better equipped to address online and technology topics with children. The website includes parent information on movies, books, video games, and children’s technology and has lessons on digital citizenship.
Focus on the Family has a variety of valuable resources for all stages of parenting.

Church / School Workday
Thank you so much to everyone who pitched in to turn the “todo” list into the “done” list recently. CTK has been blessed with a beautiful campus and the willingness to spend a few hours on campus occasionally to get things spruced up is greatly appreciated. The next work day is Saturday, December 7. Check the CTK Website for more information as the date gets closer.
Children's Christmas Programs
CTK had desired to have its K - 8 Christmas program at Matanzas High School auditorium, but the venue has been booked for quite some time. Instead, CTK will be holding its K - 8 Christmas program on Sunday, December 15, at 2pm and 4pm. Students in kindergarten through grade 8 will be divided into two groups, by last name. The first group will attend the 2pm program and the second group will attend the 4pm program. Your child's teacher has emailed the times your child will perform.
Mrs. Zahn will not be placing a SCRIP order this Tuesday because campus is closed all week. Keep on ordering and taking advantage of all the great deals coming up.
She will place the next order on Tuesday, Dec. 2nd (at 9am) and the cards will be here by Friday, Dec. 6th at 11:30 am. With the holidays quickly approaching there are some great SCRIP offers coming up:
Holiday Bonuses: November 30–December 13
Earn even more on holiday shopping with two weeks of bonuses on top brands.
2 Days of Gifting: December 5–6
Stock up on physical gift cards to use as gifts during two days of bonuses on physical cards only. More details to come on limited-time ways to earn during these two days.
If you didn't send in the order form that came home with the kids a few weeks ago you can still use it through December 23rd (after that some of the smaller $ amount cards will not be available). Just know that if you turn it in by Tuesday at 9AM it will be there Friday of the same week. Anytime after Tuesday at 9AM it will be there by Friday of the following week.
